About Us

ARMA International is a not-for-profit organization representing the RIM profession. Its primary purpose is the advancement of the profession and the professional through advocacy, education and professional development.

ARMA International members include records and information managers, MIS and ADP professionals, imaging specialists, archivists, hospital administrators, legal administrators, librarians, corporate counsel, compliance professionals, and educators. ARMA, its chapters, and its members are dedicated to helping individuals, organizations, and government agencies successfully meet the challenges of the increasingly complex records and information management field.

Mission Statement

ARMA New England's mission is to be the leading regional voice championing inclusive, forward-thinking information governance—empowering professionals, students,
and organizations to thrive in a data driven world.

Vision Statement The future of records management is dynamic and ARMA New England is positioned to provide leadership and guidance to our members by offering opportunities for timely information exchange and insight to evolving technologies and legal issues. The immediacy of new regulation and its application can be staggering, both financially and managerially. Our monthly meetings will provide RIM professionals with information on relevant topics from leading experts active in records/risk management and related fields. The objective of the monthly meetings is to provide:

  • Guidance to navigate muddied legal waters
  • Tools to mitigate risk and potential loss
  • Relevant and applicable content on current RIM issues

Our members actively participate in committees designed to achieve our planned objectives by offering their valuable time and expertise. We work with colleges and universities throughout the New England region supporting and collectively promoting graduate level RIM scholarship. We also support and promote the ‘Certified Records Manager’ certification program for RIM professionals by offering study groups and tools.

 President's Corner

June 1, 2025

As our 2024-25 programming year concludes, we take the opportunity to celebrate our achievements and acknowledge those who contributed to them. We also anticipate future programs and events with great enthusiasm. I am appreciative of the strong support from our board members: Meg Duncan, Donna Day, Ruth Edele, Colin Cahill, Stephanie McKinney, John Attanasio, and our past President, John Curran. Our programs, including EMPOWER 24, Community Harvest Volunteer Day, and webinar discussions on Privacy, DEIA, and our recent in-person program on Building your Info Coordinator Program, plus our innovative informal Tea Chats, have enabled us to achieve our objectives of educating our members, building a local network of IG professionals, and enjoying the process.

I look forward to seeing many of you at our Year-End Members/Sponsors-only Cocktail Reception on June 18 and again on September 29 at Simmons University for EMPOWER 25. For further details, please refer to the links provided on the left side of this newsletter.

You, our members, are the driving force behind our chapter. Please feel free to contact me directly with suggestions on how we can better support you and your career. Kindly forward this newsletter to others who may benefit from becoming chapter members. Our local educational programs, community support initiatives, and networking events increase in value as our membership continues to grow throughout the region.

Stay strong, healthy and have a wonderful summer!

-Chris
