President's Report
Greeting members of ARMA New England!
I want to thank everyone for your continued valued membership at ARMA New England and for voting for me as your new ARMA New England Chapter president.
First, I want to offer appreciation to our past president Mark Carter and the Board of Directors for their dedication, amazing amount of hard work and time given during a challenging two years of a pandemic and significant change in the way we collaborate.
Volunteering on a non-profit board such as ARMA certainly has its challenges-balancing work and family schedules, attending meetings, adjusting to new technology and shifting to a virtual way of communicating with your peers. Now that we are emerging from the pandemic, one of my main goals for our region is to enhance the value of being a member of ARMA, locally and nationally. Here are goals for the next two years of ARMA New England.
- Improve access to career growth opportunities
- Enhance methods for members to take advantage of relevant educational resources and leverage member expertise
- Increase the number of sponsors for our chapter and ensure they are supported and see the ROI our chapter offers
- Continue to increase development of our collaboration with other chapters in sponsorship, programming and education
- Build upon our community-inclusiveness programs
- Schedule more in person events and meetings…just like the old days! These include our in-person end of year event and 1st annual golf tournament at Mohegan Sun Golf Club.
- Make the next two years and beyond exciting and enjoyable for our board and our valued members!
With my gratitude expressed, I would like to announce the Board of Directors and VP Class of 2022-2023. Please help me congratulate and thank the following individuals on their successful appointments and positions on the board.
- Vice President — Susan Gleason
- Immediate Past President — Mark Carter
- Secretary — John Attanasio
- VP Communications and Marketing — Usra Khan
- VP Technology — Meg Duncan
- VP Membership — Heidi Bogner
- VP Professional Development — Colin Cahill
- VP Community Outreach — Stephanie McKinney
Our chapter looks forward to a new year of increased membership, expansion of our programs and opportunities to learn and build upon your knowledge. Our recipe for success should always include hard work but always mixed with a healthy portion of laughter and fun. Cheers to the members and board of ARMA New England and looking forward to a great rest of the year!
Celebrating Members
Please join us in welcoming Eugenia Brumm to the ARMA New England Chapter! She was previously with ARMA International and other local chapters for many years. Eugenia has written articles and sat on committees that have shaped the past and is still writing articles to shape the future of Records Management. She is a researcher by trade, and has taught some of our colleagues at universities. Eugenia is a fabulous addition to ARMA New England's Membership Team!
Below are our members, that are new, have renewed or are celebrating anniversaries.

On Saturday, October 22, Wachusett Brewery in Westminster, MA featured JackRabbit Slims band playing top 40 hits from the 70s to today. It was such a beautiful day – the brewery was packed inside and out!
ARMA New England was in the house! Left to right: Chris Bednar, Heidi Bogner, Eugenia Brumm, Joanne Bowen (Heidi’s “Mrs. B”)
JackRabbit Slims is a band based north/northwest of Boston and plays out roughly every 3-4 weeks. Chris plays keyboards, bass, and sings with the band and was thrilled to see the support!
The band will be back out there in 2023 and in other spots before the end of the year such as Scoreboard in Woburn, and Palmer’s in North Andover. See their Facebook page: JackRabbit Slims Band | Andover MA | Facebook
On Saturday, 10-22-2022, the American Society for the Prevention of Suicide held a walk called "Out of the Darkness." These walks are held throughout the country. This walk was held in Westport, CT. The walk is held to shine a light on the issue of suicide that impacts our country. Suicide impacts families, veterans, schools, businesses, organizations, etc.
ARMA NE Member, Ruth Edele, was in attendance and had the following to say about it: "For me, this was my first "Out of the Darkness" walk. I found it to bring together the communities in Fairfield County. I found the walk to be meaningful and impactful. It gave a voice to the issue of suicide."
