Emerging from the Pandemic and Recession:  How can RIM/IG Professionals Help?

With a new year comes hope for getting back to some sort of new normal.  As the world begins to emerge from the pandemic, and the US recession hopefully ends, there will be challenges and opportunities for organizations.  What lessons have we learned? What role(s) should RIM/IG professional play?  Our panel of thought leaders will share their insights and research to help us successfully emerge from the tribulations of last year.

Panel Members: 

Susan Cisco, CRM, FAI Records and Information Governance Consultant, Austin, TX. Susan has more than 35 years’ experience in the RIM/IG profession as a practitioner, educator, and consultant. Cisco’s seminal work in applying the 'big bucket approach" to the classification and retention of records and information has simplified ECM deployment strategies and optimized user adoption for organizations around the world. She holds a MLS degree and a Ph.D. in Library and Information Science from the University of Texas at Austin, is a CRM, and is an ARMA Fellow.

Heidi Bogner, Records and Information Governance Leader and Project Manager, Boston, MA.  Heidi has worked for multi-national and major corporations in banking/finance/consulting; education; and pharmaceuticals.  She started her career path as an Administrative Office Professional, moved into legal assistance, and has spent the last 12 years building, developing, leading, and supporting Records and Information Management (RIM) program. Some of her past professional affiliations include serving as Chapter Secretary of Project Management Institute (PMI); a Chapter Director of Toastmasters International; was a member of the ARMA Education Foundation (AEIF); and she also held several Board positions at the ARMA Boston chapter over the years.  Currently she is serving on the Membership Committee of the ARMA New England chapter.

Jim Merrifield, CRM, CIP, INFO, Director of Information Governance & Business Intake, Robinson & Cole. Jim is the Director of Information Governance & Business Intake at Robinson & Cole LLP. He co-founded the first ever conference focused exclusively on information governance, InfoGovCon (an ARMA International brand). He is an respected advisor in the information governance community and active member of a number of industry associations including: ILTA, IAPP and ARMA.
